1st Place in Brisket & Chicken

I have been smoking meat for about 20 years. 
I am a KCBS Certified Competition BBQ Judge.  I only went to one Competition just to see what all the fuss was about.  It was a lot of work, but it was fun.  And the people I met were the BEST!!!!!  Want to find down to earth people?  Go to a BBQ competition.

These 2 - 1st Place Trophies in Brisket and Chicken are proof that anyone with "basic" BBQ skills can go to a competition and win on their first try!!!!
 
The Team next to me had won 300 trophies and several State Championships and they didn't even place in Chicken or Brisket.
