Charcoal Burn Test
Royal Oak Lump vs Rancher Briquettes

Home

I used Rancher Briquettes and Royal Oak Lump

Burned equal amounts.  They burned about the same amount of time.
Can't tell you how hot they burned.

Rancher                                RO
Briquettes had about 4 times the ash that the lump produced.

Rancher on the left.  Rancher's ash was like a sandy consistency while the RO
was more like wood ash.

Although Rancher is advertised as 100% All Natural Charcoal, there has got be some major binders in there to make it into Briquettes!!!  And you can see that in the amount of ash left behind.  Binders Sminders!!!!  You are going to get a lot of ash with these Briquettes.  So, if you like the taste of all that stuff holding the Briquettes together, go for it.

I really didn't see much difference between regular Briquettes and Rancher.

Want a clean burn with little ash?  Use 100% Lump Charcoal.

Just my opinion and I don't know Jack!!!
